Statement of Privacy

Australian Plants Society Maroondah Incorporated, (Herein known as APS Maroondah) complies with the relevant principles of the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988.


In particular it:—

  1. - only collects and uses personal information necessary to its activities and in ways people would accept as reasonable;
  2. - keeps personal information secure, accurate and up-to-date;
  3. - does not pass on personal information to third parties without the consent of the individual, or where disclosure is required by law; and
  4. - if requested, shows individuals the personal information held about them, explains the purposes for which it is collected and immediately corrects any errors that can be accurately demonstrated.

Application
APS Maroondah applies these principles to personal information held about members, and in relationships with other individuals such as owners of private gardens and Nurseries.

Responsible Person
The Committee is the person responsible for ensuring the Privacy Policy is observed

Complaints
Complaints and/or questions relating to the Privacy Policy should be directed in the first instance to the Secretary of APS Maroondah
Complaints may also be directed to the office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner, GPO Box 5218, SYDNEY NSW 1042 or www.privacy.gov.au. Privacy hotline 1300 363 992.

Publicity
The following shortened reference to the Privacy Policy will be included in publications:—
"APS Maroondah complies with the National Privacy Principles for the collection and use of personal information.”

Digital Imagery
From time to time, Events held by APS Maroondah may be recorded or photographed for archival purposes and/or used for promotional purposes or website display
If you wish NOT to be included in images, please advise the Co-ordinator of the event at the time and be aware of photographers and camera angles.
